Stage: Peppermint To Perform

The LGBT Expo is excited to welcome back Peppermint, who will be performing one of her new songs and hosting the “Lifetime Achievement Awards” ceremony.
Agnes Moore,[1] known by her stage name Peppermint or Miss Peppermint, is an American actress, singer, and drag queen best known as a fixture in the New York City nightlife scene and as the runner-up on the ninth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race.
Career Beginnings 
Peppermint started performing at the New York City Kurfew parties, ultimately becoming a fixture in New York City nightlife.
Peppermint started recording music in 2005 for Jonny McGovern’s mixtape Jonny McGovern Presents: This is NYC, Bitch! The East Village Mixtape. She contributed the song, Servin’ It Up,” which was produced by Adam Joseph. The song was later released as Peppermint’s debut single in 2006.
Peppermint was featured in the web series Queens of Drag: NYC by in 2010. The series featured fellow New York drag queens Bianca Del Rio, Dallas DuBois, Hedda Lettuce, Lady Bunny, Mimi Imfurst, and Sherry Vine. She also appeared as a drag-version of Tyra Banks on America’s Next Top Model Cycle 14, Episode 5: “Smile and Pose” introducing a drag-theme runway challenge at Lucky Chengs in New York City.
In 2011, Sherry Vine and Peppermint released a parody of the Lady Gaga and Beyoncé song “Telephone,” titled “Make Me Moan.” Following the viral success of the music video, Peppermint later released other parody songs, including a parody of Azealia Banks’ song “212,” titled “21/12.”
Peppermint’s song “If I Steal Your Boyfriend” was used in the 2011 film Eating Out 5: The Open Weekend.
Ru Paul’s Drag Race
On February 2, 2017, Peppermint was announced as one of the fourteen contestants on the ninth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race.
College Tour
On June 23, 2017, Peppermint and Sasha Velour announced that they are planning a college tour in 2018 to present on gender diversity and drag culture.
Personal Life
Born Kevin Moore, Peppermint is a trans woman. Though other transgender women have competed on RuPaul’s Drag Race, she was the first to be out prior to the show airing. While a contestant on Rupaul’s Drag Race, Peppermint revealed that when she had been a high-school cheerleader, she had been beaten up by a male member of the basketball team. 
Project Peppermint is the working title of a planned documentary directed by Oriel Pe’er, chronicling Peppermint’s life and experiences as a trans woman in drag.[13] Filming began in 2015.

Peppermint is the first queen to enter the werkroom on Season 9.
Peppermint is transgender. Although other previous contestants have come out as trans during or after filming, Peppermint is the first queen to enter as an openly trans woman.
Peppermint, along with Aja, Alexis Michelle, and Sasha Velour, was interviewed for getoutmag and had to serve a Broadway themed look, her doing Kinky Boots.
When Peppermint got her callback for the show, she thought that the caller was her one of her friends, and immediately said “What’s up bitch, keep telling me!”.
Peppermint, along with Aja, Alexis Michelle, and Sasha Velour, released a song on April 21, 2017 called “C.L.A.T.”
She is the fourth queen ever to make it to the final with just one challenge win (the first two queens being Nina Flowers and Rebecca Glasscock in Season 1, and the third being Naomi Smalls in Season 8)
Peppermint is one of the first top 4 to enter the finale all together (along with Shea Coulee, Trinity Taylor, and Sasha Velour).
Peppermint is the second queen to place as 1st Runner-Up with only 1 challenge win, the first being Nina Flowers.
Peppermint is the only transgender queen so far to make it to the top 4, ultimately placing as the runner-up.
