Main Stage: Aris To Perform

February 11, 2016

Performing live on the main stage, it’s LGBT Expo veteran Aris.

From as early as age 3, out rocker Aris remembers being influenced by New York City’s melting pot of musical sounds. Born in Brooklyn, the son of an Irish belly-dancing mother and a Greek immigrant father, his musical worldview was influenced by the diversity shared by his family and hometown.

The new single “Reborn” straddles the lines of rock, pop and electronics  with a thumping stomp-clap-kick groove, lush live strings, layered harmonies and soaring hooks. The music video takes cue from the core message of the song – the universal power of love. The lead single from Aris’ upcoming album “Pulse” is now available for purchase on iTunes and to stream on Soundcloud, with remixes forthcoming.

Reborn “isn’t just an all-out, face-to-the-floor adrenaline boost, there’s a seductive element to the track that gives it another dimension. ‘Reborn’ perfectly balances the up-beat with the laid-back, chill vibe. It’s this duality that really shines through above all: not quite EDM, not quite Pop, and not quite Rock, but a perfect blend of all of these styles coming together to create something new entirely.” writes Evan Morgan of Poet & Pariah.  The new single “hits you in all the right spots” notes Phil King of Audiofuzz.

The successfully Kickstarted album “Pulse”, his third full length LP, will be released in early 2016. The album delivers a hearty collection of dance, rock, soul and world sounds, and features a collaboration with Grammy winner Paula Cole.

Aris and his music have been featured in fashion campaigns for Project Runway winner Irina Shabayeva and on dance floors at venues such as the legendary Webster Hall, the Bitter End, Santos Party House. Jim Fusilli of The Wall Street Journal describes Aris’ music as “rock with big lyrical themes” and offers comparisons to singer Peter Gabriel. While Aris has also drawn comparisons to Kurt Cobain, Chris Cornell and Seal, his sound is definitely unique. Aris “combines a punk sensibility with electronic dance to create a unique grunge house sound all his own” writes Nashville’s “Inside OUT”
